BSM on the Move - Quick Trip to Detroit

This week I spent 48 hours in Detroit for business and although it was snowing and colder than ever, I still truly made the most of it and  thoroughly enjoyed myself.  This was actually my second time  ever to Detroit and I definitely gained an appreciation for it this time around, especially being that I stayed at the beautiful Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center, and I was able to spend time with some natives and gain knowledge some amazing fun facts about the city, in addition to visiting a few great places.

Fortunately, I will head back in June for work again and I will be able to truly enjoy the city in much better climate temperature, as well as for a much longer stay! Definitely, looking forward to that!

In the meantime, here's a quick run down of my extra short but fun visit.  First of all,  I felt like a little kid in an amusement park when I got to the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center.  What a beautiful hotel it is and let me me not forget to mention the excellent customer service from the hotel staff all the way around!  The best part about this hotel is that it is housed in the riverfront headquarters of General Motors, so a perk was that on my way to the elevators I was able to look down into the GM showroom and look at all their latest vehicles models.  The hotel rooms boast beautiful views of the river, the city and across the way to Canada! Absolutely breathtaking even in the snow!

In addition to my stay at the Marriott, I was able to visit the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino to play a few slot machines.  The casino was very nice, and pretty large, so I was able to play whatever I wanted without having to wait, which I thought was great!  I even had a little luck!   I also had an appetizer at the Detroit Seafood Market and dinner at Downtown Louie's.  Food was great! I am definitely looking forward to my next trip back to Detroit so that I can get a more detailed and intense feel for the wonderful city! Here are some photos of the places that I visited this go round.
