BSM Travel Diaries - Washington D.C. Days
Hello my dear BSM readers, my apologies for the lack of post for the past week, as I was out of town working in Washington, DC so time was limited for anything other than work and the slight bit of sleep I barely squeezed in. Of course I would love to recap the great city delights that I was able to experience while in one of my favorite cities ever. They don't call it "Chocolate City" for nothing! As I mentioned in a previous post it is great to see successful Black folks doing their thing in such a a powerful city! It is equally great to see students striving for greatness at the well known HBCU campus of Howard University. While I did not personally attend, it has always been a favorite of mine since I was a little girl, and I have known a lot of friends that have proudly graduated from there as well.
In addition to visiting the Howard Campus, I also had an interesting visit to RNC Headquarters, a visit to the White House for a briefing on "My Brother's Keeper, a visit to the Roland Martin NewsOne Now Show, and a visit to the National Press Club for a luncheon. To top it off I stayed at the beautiful modern contemporary Marriott Renaissance Hotel in downtown D.C. What a beautiful hotel it is, definitely one of my favorites to stay at, with great service, great amenities, great location & great food, this hotel never disappoints! I also visited one of my favorite buffets, Phillips. They have a great variety of food to choose from, especially seafood!
If you have never been I suggest you get there if ever you have the opportunity! Here are a few photos to highlight my visit to Washington, D.C.
