Decorative Blazers & Simple Pairings - Blazer, Sleeveless Top, & Dressy Sweat Pants

Image
I love a great jacket and/or blazer.  I am ashamed to say that I have a large variety to choose from in my closet because I can't get enough of them  Whether long or short; leather, rayon or denim; they are  a must have item for me.  They are a great layering piece and can be the perfect addition to almost any outfit.  I am so excited because now that the weather is cooling down I will be able to break mine out more often.  Today's outfit consisted of a fun decorative blazer, paired with some dressy sweatpants that had zipper detailing on the bottom, a sleeveless drape front v-neck tank and of course my favorite pointy toe patent leather heals.  Here's a peak at my outfit of the day.

BSM Beauty Bits - What I am currently loving

Image
So every now and again I like to update you my current beauty favorites.  Some things changes but somethings definitely remain the same.  I am a firm believer that if it ain't broke don't try to fix it, especially when it comes to cosmetics and beauty aides.  Its hard to find things that work, so when you do, the only reason to switch it up is if its discontinued!! Here's a peek at some of my favorite things. photo courtesy of nordstrom.com Philosophy Purity One-Step Facial Cleaner This stuff is absolutely amazing and does what it says its gonna do.  It simplifies your facial routine by combining acting as a makeup remover, cleanser and toner.  It doesn't dry your face out and is great for all skin types.  This is my absolute favorite, tried and true cleanser.  Yes a little pricey, but worth every penny and lasts for quite awhile if you buy the big bottle. photo courtesy of nordstrom.com Philosophy Hope in a Jar This is truly a miracle in a jar

Outfit Made Simple - Blazer, Tank, Leggings & Heels

Image
We all have a go to outfit or items in our wardrobe that are quick, easy and reliable.  Four things I could never live without:  jackets, black leggings, long tanks and pointy toe heels.  Those are pretty much my old faithfuls, for when I really don't want to get dressed, but have to, and need to look presentable.  Jackets are great because they can add dimension to an outfit and just change the whole look and feel depending on the color, length and style.  I love leggings, I have them in multiple textures, colors and lengths.  They are a must in my wardrobe because I can make them work for many occasions, they travel well, and they are super comfy.  You can never have too many pairs of great leggings! Long tanks for tall girls are a must; they compliment our stature and also are just good wardrobe staples to have year round.  They are great to wear alone or especially as layering pieces under sweaters, jackets and even different shirts or blouses.  Lastly, I could never live witho

Clean Lines - Black & White Jacket, Stretch Midi skirt & Ruffled Hem Tank

Black and white stripes always add a nice finish to a simple outfit.  Today I decide to jazz up my all black ensemble with a ruffle hem top, texture printed belt, topped off with one of my favorite jackets that has very simple yet eye catch horizontal lines.  Something simple, yet classy and not to mention very comfy. Whenever you can be comfy and cute you are definitely ready to take on the world! Here is a peek at my outfit of the day.

Weekend Wear - Wide Leg Pants, Tank Top & Denim Jacket

Image
I hope everyone had a great weekend.  Mine was hot, busy and eventful, definitely requiring an outfit that was comfy, yet appropriate enough to take me from one place to the next.  For the second time this week I opted for a great pair of wide leg pants, they were a lot less dressy than the others from the other day, however comfort on the weekend whenever possible is the goal and these did the trick.  I paired the pants with a simple tank, denim vest and one thing I truly don't post enough of, my handbags, a cross body that keeps me hand free on those busy outings.  Here's a peek at what I wore.

Bright Colors & Wide leg Florals - Vest, Blouse and Wide Leg Pants

I love a great wide leg pant!  They are versatile, comfortable and definitely a great look for tall women.  They are great for pear shaped women, as they give the illusion of narrower hips.  Definitely another must have in my wardrobe staples.  I have a handful of them in multiple colors as well as some solid colors for a more classic look.  However today, I opted for my black floral design wide legs, and paired them with a fun bright color blouse and long vest.  Here's a peek at today's outfit.

A Splash of Red - Draped Cardigan, Tank Blouse, Tuck-Draped Skirt, Suede Heels

Image
Red is such a great addition to grey's and blue's, and with today's outfit I opted for splashes of red with my tank-blouse and my shoes.  I had a couple business meetings to attend, but the warm weather is still holding on, so I opted for a fitted skirt, blousey tank, and a light flowy cardigan to get me through my day.  Three great items that everyone should own in multiple colors, because they are are quick and easy to switch up and make various combinations.  Another simple classic pairing that can get you from daily business affairs to after-5 festivities with minimal effort.   Here's a peak at today's outfit.

Simply Sophistication - Blue Dress and Silver Accessory Accents

Image
Today's outfit is a very simple dress with simple accents.  One of the most easy go to wardrobe pieces is a great dress; and topped off with some great shoes and accessories you are ready for anything that comes your way for the day.  Dresses are definitely a go to for me because they comfy, easy to maneuver my days tasks in, an depending on your line of work or days events, they are great for any occasion.  You can never have to many to choose from in your closet.  I like to see them as simple sophistication.  Here's a peak at what I wore today to attend a lunch meeting and a few other business meetings.

Sunday Fun-Day - Stumbling upon new boutiques around town

Image
So today was great day, I snagged 3 pair of wide leg pants that I have been on the hunt for, for quite some time.  I ran into a lady the other day and she told me about a boutique shop that was by a neighborhood grocery store, that I just so happen to stop by today.  I am so glad that I did, today was my lucky day, because I truly lucked out when I came upon these pants and copped them on sale.  I love a great bargain especially for items on my wish list.  The best part is that the pants are super long, an absolute must and plus for us tall girls out here.  It can be hard to find pants that actually are cute and long enough to make the cut.  I can't wait to wear them and piece together and outfit to post for you guys.  But in the meantime, if you are in IL, CA or AZ you are in luck as this great boutique could be near you, so that you can hopefully go in and find some great pieces to add to your wardrobes as well.  If you are not so lucky to be able to visit an actual location, you

Black & White Edge Appeal - Black & White Blouse, Textured Leggings, Red Pumps

Image
Black white is always a go to favorite of mine, with a touch of red you are giving it a perfect finishing touch to make the outfit pop.  A great blouse paired with some textured leggings along with the perfect pointy toe pump can take you from a business meeting to an after five dinner mix and mingle. Being that I live in a warmer climate, I have to be conscious of the heat but still ensure that I keep my outfits polished and professional for my day to day business needs.  This lightweight blouse and legging are perfect pairing for that just right edgy yet polished look to get you through your day.  Here's a peek at my outfit of the day.

I'M BACK - Quick Update

Hello BSM readers, I am so sorry for the long hiatus, but I am back and ready to get back into the daily swing of things bringing you outfits, BSM beauty bits and so much more.  But first I want to let you all know what I have been up to.   I have been crazy busy with multiple work projects, traveling, personal projects and also ensuring I stay true to my daily workouts.  I have definitely seen results in doing so and I recommend that if you are not a person that workouts you should try and incorporate some sort of daily fitness into your life.  Whether you are a runner or even something as simple as walking at least 20-30 mins a day, it can make a difference.   It definitely helps me stay focused throughout the day and most important of all, I feel absolutely amazing everyday that I do workout and truly notice a difference if I slack off and miss too many days.  I go to the gym and ride a spin bike for 20 miles (usually takes me 45 to 50 mins) and I lift weights.  That being said, I h
