Cheetah Chic - Animal Print Skirt & Simple top

Image
Wearing animal prints is always fun and a great way to express yourself with your wardrobe.  I think every woman should have some sort of leopard, zebra, tiger or cheetah print in their closet.  Those prints are usually flattering on most, depending on how you wear them, but you an also have too much of a good thing if you go overboard and try to wear too much at one time.  Be mindful of potential animal print overload!  With this outfit to break up the print and make it a chic outfit, I paired a colorful top with the neutral animal print to give it a little pop, while keeping it classy & sassy.  I completed my look with a great statement necklace and belt, along with some suede pumps and added a sweater vest to give it a little more conservative look. I truly love pairing this maroon color with various things as it is a very flattering color for my brown skin friends.  Try adding this color into wardrobe if you want a color that is a little more subtl...

Fun & Flirty - Blazer, Striped tank & Flared Skirt

Image
When the sun is shining there is always always an excuse to wear a fun and flirty outfit.  It keeps you cool in the warm weather and if you have great legs then its definitely an excuse to show them off.  Since I have been told my legs are an asset, I decided to run with it, so any chance I get to buy a fun and flirty skirt, I don't pass it up.  This off white BCBG skirt is one of my favorites! It's comfy, hugs in all in the right places and has the perfect flare out at the bottom.  It's just the right length, making it appropriate and classy enough to wear during the day, giving a polished look to handle your business or enjoy the days events.  Here's a peek at my OOTD.

Spring Statement Dress - Coral and Cream Dress

Another great dress for any occasion.  Often times my outfit has to take me from the days work to an evening business event, and on days like this, I choose to go with a great statement dress.  A statement dress says I am ready for anything no matter what time of day it is.  I love this particular dress because of the colors and pattern design, as they are great for brown skin tones.  This dress is comfy and allows for movement while I am handling business all the while looking sassy and professional.  I had quite a busy week last week, so here's a look back at my OOTD from last Thursday.

Body Band-Aid - Bodycon Dress and Denim Jacket

Image
I love a great bodycon dress, and when I came across this kelly green Rachel Rachel Roy dress I definitely had to scoop it up in every color possible.  I have it in black, olive green and teal blue.  This dress is so comfortable and very versatile.  It can be worn alone or paired with great accessories or or layers up with other pieces.  You can wear it during the day with a car coat (long jacket), a long or short sweater, a blazer or even a sporty jacket to change up the appearance.  Today I decided to jazz up my bodycon dress with my BCBG multi-layer beaded necklace, some pointy toe heels, topped off with a denim jacket to dress it down a bit.  It was great for this sunny day and polished enough to handled my days business.  Here's a peek at what I wore.

Wrap me into Spring - Faux Wrap Dress

Image
Dresses are always easy, especially in the spring and summer months when you can't live in bathing suits and shorts.  What better thing to wear than a great wrap style dress.  They are comfy and as I have mentioned before, quite flattering on most body types.  You truly can't go wrong adding one or two into your wardrobe.  Some of my go to brands for a great wrap dress are DVF , Michael Kors & Banana Republic .  Today I paired my Michael Kors faux wrap dress with my favorite dark natural patent leather pumps and I was out the door.  Another effortless wardrobe moment that is quick and easy enough for even the most fashionably challenged.  If you are not a fan of short dresses, just keep on the lookout for maxi style wrap dresses.  They are just as flattering and fairly easy to find.   Calvin Klein has some great ones to choose from.  Here's a peek at my OOTD.

Simple Sundays - Leggings, High-Lo Top & Sandals

Image
Sundays were made for simplicity, a day to wind down your weekend and prepare for the upcoming week.  I attempt to relax, however there is always something to do in my world, so I have to be prepared for whatever may come my way.  Today I decided to keep the wardrobe pretty lo-key, but sassy enough to take me from errands to a small gathering with friends.  Leggings are a favorite go to and a definite staple in my closet, as they can serve a multitude of purposes in my wardrobe.  Whether, underneath a short dress, sweater or a tunic top, I can dress them up or down, and one thing's for sure they are oh so comfortable providing great unrestricted movement at all times.  I went with my BCBG Mason leggings today, paired with a hi-lo top and some flat sandals.  Easy, breezy effortless style.  Here's a peak at what I wore.

LBD - Little Black Dress and Accents of Gold

One thing that's for sure, every woman should own a little black dress; if not a few.  I definitely have my fair share and ensure that I have them in a few different styles, so that I can wear them for just about any occasion that comes my way.  I have them fitted, flared and flowy just to name a few styles. LBD's are a great go to for day to day, business, happy hour, weddings, cocktail party's and even formal events; so the advantages to having them in your wardrobe are endless.  If you haven't done inventory in your closet, I suggest you do so to ensure that you have at least one great LBD that fits you for that next great event that you get invited to.  Here's a peek at my LBD that I wore to handle the days business.  It took me from meetings, to lunch, to running errands.  I love this dress because of the comfort and flexible movement that it gives me to get around during the variety of tasks that I have throughout my day.  Of course I had to jazz...

Give me the Blues - Blue Tank, Navy Blue Pants, & Denim Blue Vest

Image
I have always been a fan of the blue family.  It is definitely a great color to have in your wardrobe as it can be conservative, aka safe, or even a wild vibrant go to color, depending on the shade of choice. Royal blue is definitely at the top of my favorite color listing and anytime I can find it in a store I am quick to snatch it up.  I also appreciate having navy in my closet, as it is a great color to have for those business attire days.  Whether in a dress, pants or skirt, its a color that you can always depend on being appropriate for just about any occasion.  With this great weather we are having, I chose to go sleeveless today and wear a royal blue blousy tank, tie dyed denim vest, with some navy ankle pants, topped off with some classic pointy toe heels.  Another simple chic outfit that I can take me from day to night.  Here's a peek at my OOTD.

Peachy Keen - Oversized top and Colored Denim

Image
Today's outfit was just another quick thrown together ensemble, as color can truly brighten up your day.  I really enjoy that salmon, peachy color as it looks great on brown skin tones, in addition to livening up the day.  Another thing I have plenty of in my closet, are scarves.  I have no shortage, as I always can find great use for them.  Whether staying warm or just simple accessorizing, they are definitely a must have in everyone's wardrobe that can jazz up or just add a touch of sophistication to your outfit.  I decided to pair this peach over sized top with some skinny jeans and top it off with an fun infinity scarf.  I chose skinny pants as the top was already flowy, so I wanted ensure to balance it out and not wear over sized bottoms to make me look frumpy or as if I was hiding under my clothes.  It was a simple yet classic pairing that created a polished look for me to take care of the days business.  Here's a peek at what I wore. ...
