Power Chic - Pink & Teal

Image
I was looking to put together a fresh, clean, vibrant, chic outfit together with this look.  I paired teal and fuchsia pink and beautiful pearl and gold statement necklace to pull together this fun, flirty, yet power chic outfit; that can definitely be worn to the office and even out for happy hour after work.  Here's a peak at what I wore.

Color Blocking with Colors of the Sea

Image
The beautiful colors of the sea inspired my outfit today.  I know I may wear a lot of black, but I am definitely not afraid of color! I am especially not afraid to experiment with color blocking! As I have said before, don't be afraid to try on multiple colors together to see what works best for you, as you may be surprised at how creative you can get while pulling together a  fabulous outfit!  My colors of choice today were royal blue and teal, along with a splash of white and a gold statement necklace to seamlessly blend the colors together.  Here's a peek at today's outfit.

Flared Leather Skirt - Chic Sophistication

Image
Now that I am back I felt like getting sassy for the day.  I think that having leather in your closet is very essential.  It gives your wardrobe a little bit of edgy that you can take to multiple levels.  Today I decided to wear my flared leather skirt with some sassy pumps topped with a chic tie blouse.  Since I have to handle some business as well as attend an event this evening, this outfit will definitely serve its purpose in more ways than one, taking me from day to night with no adjustments needed!  And for those of you who are always looking for a good red lipstick, I pulled out a MAC favorite, Ruby Woo and lined it my Laura Mercier, Very Cherry Lip liner.  That lip combo is amazing and will definitely turn heads.  Here's a peek at what I am wearing today.

Viva La Puerto Rico

Image
My apologies for the 1 week hiatus, but I was away on a work trip to the beautiful island of Puerto Rico! Even though I was there for work I did get to enjoy the great surroundings of my hotel environment, so here's a quick post for those that may get the opportunity to travel there one day soon.  I stayed at the Intercontinental San Juan and it was a beautiful hotel! Not to big not to small, perfect for a couple get away, family vacation or even an event style occasion.  The hotel was clean, had great meeting spaces for a mid size group, great food options, (even a Ruth Chris attached), outdoor patios & bars for day and evening enjoyment, a Casino that was generous with slot machine winnings, and a beautiful outdoor pool area for relaxation and enjoyment of the perfect weather.  The best part is that the hotel was right off the beach, which provided breathe taking views from my room every morning, afternoon and evening, as well as easy access from your hotel to the beach fr

Casual Weekend Wear

Image
I have been on the go this weekend as I am getting ready to work a convention next week.  So here's a quick post of what I wore to run errands and still try and be presentable in the process.  Of course I had one of my trusty dusty pairs of leggings and my knee high boots!  Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Black & White Mixed Textures

Image
I love to try new things with my wardrobe.  Some times things you don't think you would wear, once you try them on, you end up loving them on yourself more so than you did on the hanger.  I paired this black and gray speckled BCBG boyfriend blazer with my recent square textured blouse purchase from JCrew.  Of course I added my favorite bottoms, a pair of leggings, to the mix and I was ready for a of work, errands and happy hour to end the day.  Here's a peek at my outfit.

Almost All Black Everything…..Touch of Red

Image
I guess this week I was into wearing colors back to back.  So my out fit today consisted of all black with a touch of red. I decided I wanted to cover my arms because it was a little breezy so I just added a red jacket to top off my outfit.  Here's a peek at what I wore.

Red….Just Add A Little Leopard To It

Image
Animal print is a must have in everyones' wardrobe.  Whether its a scarf, blouse, skirt, pants, or sweater, its a great statement piece however you present it!  One of my favorite things to do with the color red is to add some leopard to give it a little zest.  Here's a peak at how I incorporated a leopard top and red skinny jeans.

Color Blocking - Blue, Teal, Black & White

Image
Coloring blocking can be a beautiful collage of art if you pair the right combination.  And the right combo, is exactly what you choose for it to be, fitting to your taste and style.  Don't be afraid to mix and match colors, you will be surprised at how fabulous it all comes together.  I have to admit some combinations pop more than others but you have to see what works for you once you try them on.     Today I wore some of my favorite colors and pulled together this look.

Mixed Greens - Olive & Teal

Image
I think that green is such an amazing color and depending on the shade, it definitely makes brown skin tones glow!  Mixed with a few gold accessories and some black harem pants, I pulled together a sassy look that took me from day to night.  Here's a peek at what I wore today.

Outfit Adjusted - Olive Skinny's vs Wide Legs

Image
Its amazing what a few simple adjustments can do to an out fit.  I always have a vision in my head about what I am going to wear for the day, but there are moments when I actually have the outfit on and I am not feeling it the way I thought I would, so I have to do a little tweaking, adding or subtracting of some things.  Today I wanted to wear these wide leg jeans, but once I got them on I felt like their was somethings missing, so I switched it up a bit.  With a couple minor adjustments, I changed into some skinny jeans, added a faux fur vest and it all came together.  Here's a peek at today's outfit pre and post swap outs.

Black & Pink - Shift Dress & OTK Boots

Image
Fuchsia pink is one of my favorite colors.  Its a color that works well with most skin tones and truly makes a statement.  Today's outfit was a long sleeve shift dress that is sassy as well as very comfortable.  I love dresses that can stand on their own with minimal accessories, and this dress with its two tone color and simple yet zesty back zipper detail, does just that.  Here's a peek at what I wore.

Flirty Black & Earth Tones

Image
Black and neutral tones are a staple in my closet and together I feel like they can make a great statement.  Black gives those earthy tones a nice pop to make them stand out a little more than they would on their own.  Today I was feeling a little flirty so I decided to throw on a cute short and flowey skirt and some over the knee boots.  Two of my absolute favorite pieces in my closet.  What's that saying, "when you look good, you feel good, "  well today I woke up feeling good, so it gave me a boost and I just pulled this outfit together on whim!  Here's a peak at today's outfit ensemble.

Travel Treats - Shopping & My Favorite Restaurant in Atlanta

Image
While on my two week hiatus, I spent time in the lovely State of Georgia!  Definitely one of my favorite places to visit.  I was able to squeeze in a little bit of shopping and can't resist the urge to share some of the cute boutiques,  as well as, some major shopping stops and a trip to one of favorite eating spots.

Ready for a great 2014

Image
I took some time away to enjoy the holiday season and bring in the New Year on a two week vacation, but now I am back and ready to jump back in the saddle.  I have to say that I totally missed blogging and I am ready to reload and get back to it!! So lets start with Happy New Year!! 2014 is going to be a great year!! Today I traveled home and managed to completely unpack all my suit cases and then I hit the streets to run some much needed errands after being gone for 2 weeks! Since it was a beautiful sunny 66 degrees outside, I decided to lightly layer up with some of my favorite pieces, leather, leopard scarf and a comfy asymmetrical dress, topped with a edgy belt.  Here's a peek at my out of the day.
