Viva La Puerto Rico


My apologies for the 1 week hiatus, but I was away on a work trip to the beautiful island of Puerto Rico! Even though I was there for work I did get to enjoy the great surroundings of my hotel environment, so here's a quick post for those that may get the opportunity to travel there one day soon.  I stayed at the Intercontinental San Juan and it was a beautiful hotel! Not to big not to small, perfect for a couple get away, family vacation or even an event style occasion.  The hotel was clean, had great meeting spaces for a mid size group, great food options, (even a Ruth Chris attached), outdoor patios & bars for day and evening enjoyment, a Casino that was generous with slot machine winnings, and a beautiful outdoor pool area for relaxation and enjoyment of the perfect weather.  The best part is that the hotel was right off the beach, which provided breathe taking views from my room every morning, afternoon and evening, as well as easy access from your hotel to the beach front!  Great hotel, with a wonderful staff and just enough amenities to keep you comfortable for your stay!  Who could ask for anything more!  I will definitely be going back and staying there.  And for those of you who don't know, another great perk to visiting Puerto Rico is no passport needed! So if you haven't been and need a tropical style vacay, this is your place to be!  Here are a few pics.

Something about wearing all black says bossy to me.  The look and feel of this color makes such a powerful statement and you can usually never go wrong no matter what size you are, as it is the most flattering and forgiving color one can wear.  I love bright and beautiful colors but black is definitely a BSM favorite and absolute go to! For today's OOTD post, I chose a simple turtle neck, tiered leather skirt, ankle booties and topped it off with some classy long pearls.  My favorite items of this look are the the skirt and the booties.  I have always appreciated the look of a great leather pencil skirt.  If you find the perfect fit and length, it just hugs and accentuates your curves in all the right places, proving a very sophisticated and classy appeal.  The ankle booties are a great alternative to a pump. Shades of Pink - Pink & Black Dress and Pink Top & Black Leather Skirt

Pink is a universal color that looks good on almost everyone, including the gentlemen.  Some shades definitely pop more so than others.  I truly love the dramatic look of fuchsia pink, it is vibrant and makes a very bold statement, where as the softer pink is very classic and timeless. In today's post I am giving you two different looks with two different shades of pink. The first look has a sassy and bold appeal.  I paired my long sleeve shift dress with some leggings and black knee high boots with gold accents.  This fuchsia shade definitely pops and makes a statement that definitely needs no introduction.  Where as the second look, has a touch of classy sophistication appeal to it.  The soft pink top finished off with a faux leather pencil skirt, pearls and ankle strap heels gives you subtle sexy look.  Here's a peek at the outfits I pulled together.

Every day is a Special Occasion - Embroidered Skirt, Tank and Blazer

I have things in my closet that I sometimes never get to waiting on a special occasion; so rather than do that I figure, "if you have it, wear it", as everyday is a special occasion to look and feel good.  For today's OOTD,  I was feeling a little sassy and decided to wear this fun embroidered fitted skirt. I have said it before, I love pieces that accent your curves in all the right places; and the skirt does just that.  I completed the look with an long asymmetrical sleeveless top and a blazer.  Simple, yet edgy and definitely and outfit that can take you from day to night if need be.  Now, call me crazy, but I truly got dressed to sit in my office all day and run a couple errands, but regardless I was ready for anything that came my way.  Here's a peek at what I wore.
