BSM Beauty Bits - My Daily go to Items for a Simple Fresh Face

I, like many other women of color, had a hard time finding the best make-up brands that were conducive to my needs.  I do not wear heavy makeup,  but I do go for a little enhancement to brighten up my face and keep my daily look polished from head to toe.  These items are my daily go to's that keep my look simple and easy.



Laura Mercier Smooth Finish Foundation Powder
This powder gives a very natural finish that is not cakey.  It can be worn wet or dry. This is a quick and easy to do if I am in a rush and do not have time to put on tinted moisturizer or if I need touch up throughout the day.  Also great because there is buildable coverage if you need it.





Laura Mercier Oil Free Tinted Moisturizer
My all time favorite of its kind! This has been a staple for me for the last few years because it gives a very natural finish while giving great coverage that lasts all day.  I mix two colors in the summer, Tan and Mocha to get my perfect shade, but normally I am fine with Tan during the spring and fall months.  Its a little pricey but so worth it, as a little goes a long way.


Laura Mercier Creme Eyeliner
This eyeliner is great because it glides on very smooth and stays in place all day.


L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes Mascara
I love this mascara because there is no clumping and it really accentuates your lashes.  If I put no make-up on my face I will still use this mascara and it really gives my face a simply boost with the pop that it creates on my eyelashes.


MAC Coppertone Blush
Great neutral blush tone that goes well multiple skin tones and isn't too dramatic.


Laura Mercier Lip Glace
Hands down one of the best lip glosses ever because it is non-drying, non-sticky and feels so great on your lips.


If you are looking for great products to add to your make-up collection or just looking for something period, I would recommend these items.  They have been great for my combination skin and I have repurchased time and time again.

Something about wearing all black says bossy to me.  The look and feel of this color makes such a powerful statement and you can usually never go wrong no matter what size you are, as it is the most flattering and forgiving color one can wear.  I love bright and beautiful colors but black is definitely a BSM favorite and absolute go to! For today's OOTD post, I chose a simple turtle neck, tiered leather skirt, ankle booties and topped it off with some classy long pearls.  My favorite items of this look are the the skirt and the booties.  I have always appreciated the look of a great leather pencil skirt.  If you find the perfect fit and length, it just hugs and accentuates your curves in all the right places, proving a very sophisticated and classy appeal.  The ankle booties are a great alternative to a pump. Shades of Pink - Pink & Black Dress and Pink Top & Black Leather Skirt

Pink is a universal color that looks good on almost everyone, including the gentlemen.  Some shades definitely pop more so than others.  I truly love the dramatic look of fuchsia pink, it is vibrant and makes a very bold statement, where as the softer pink is very classic and timeless. In today's post I am giving you two different looks with two different shades of pink. The first look has a sassy and bold appeal.  I paired my long sleeve shift dress with some leggings and black knee high boots with gold accents.  This fuchsia shade definitely pops and makes a statement that definitely needs no introduction.  Where as the second look, has a touch of classy sophistication appeal to it.  The soft pink top finished off with a faux leather pencil skirt, pearls and ankle strap heels gives you subtle sexy look.  Here's a peek at the outfits I pulled together.

Every day is a Special Occasion - Embroidered Skirt, Tank and Blazer

I have things in my closet that I sometimes never get to waiting on a special occasion; so rather than do that I figure, "if you have it, wear it", as everyday is a special occasion to look and feel good.  For today's OOTD,  I was feeling a little sassy and decided to wear this fun embroidered fitted skirt. I have said it before, I love pieces that accent your curves in all the right places; and the skirt does just that.  I completed the look with an long asymmetrical sleeveless top and a blazer.  Simple, yet edgy and definitely and outfit that can take you from day to night if need be.  Now, call me crazy, but I truly got dressed to sit in my office all day and run a couple errands, but regardless I was ready for anything that came my way.  Here's a peek at what I wore.
