Little Changes Make a Big Difference - Chucks 'n Bun vs Heels 'n HairFlow

Image
Little thing truly mean and lot and in the wardrobe arena, small adjustments can make a huge difference.  In this daily bonus post, you will see that just by changing my shoes and hair, what a difference it can make in the look and appeal of my outfit. I took a comfy sweatshirt top and paired it with a fitted tube skirt and my infinity scarf.  The trade off was having my hair in a bun and wearing some converse for a more casual look, then doing a switch up to heels and a having my hair down for a more polished chic look.  I love this look as it is versatile and can be worn for various occasions just by making a couple small adjustments.  In this case, just by switching your shoes and adding an accessory, you allow yourself to take this outfit from, casual to business, comfy to sassy, or even day to after work fun.  Here's a peek at what I pulled together.

Simple, Bold and Always on Point - Black and White Combo

Image
Black and white never gets old, so when in doubt, it's the easy go to choice for your daily wardrobe decisions.  Although they are simple colors, they are definitely timeless, classy and yet stand on their own making bold and powerful statements when worn.   For today's OOTD post, I chose one of my favorite off white boyfriend blazers trimmed in black. I like this blazer because its longer than the average, so being that I am tall it hits me just right.  I also love that this blazer is versatile and can be worn with leggings, jeans, wide leg pants and even a skirt, giving just the perfect touch to jazz up any other items you pair with it.  I chose to pair mine with a white blouse and black wax coated pants, finished off with some suede pointy toe booties.  Simple, bold and always appropriate for any occasion, you cannot ever go wrong wearing a black and white combo.  Here's a peek at the outfit I pulled together.

BSM Quick Fits - Multiple OutFits

I was a little busy this week and didn't get a chance to blog a few outfits.  So this a quick post of three outfits I wore this week.

Getting "Dressed" - Dress and Knee High Boots

Image
Dresses are always so fun because they take on a life of their own.  Whether solid, floral, or textured, dresses show off your curves and you give a confidence like no other.  Being that they come in so many fits, lengths and styles, you could make a wardrobe of nothing but great dresses and be ready for just about anything that comes up, including a very lo-key casual day. I had an event that I had to do, so I prefer dresses because they are professional but also allow for easy movement pending the fabric choice.  This particular evening, I chose a cotton/sweater style which was super comfy but very flexible so that I could be a woman on move throughout the evening to get my work done, even if it included moving a box or two.  I added a couple of small touches with accessories and a asymmetrical blazer just to jazz it up a little more.  Here is a peek at what I wore.

Fun & Flirty with Color - Green Blouse, Tan Skirt, Black OTK Boots

Image
Adding vibrant pops of color is always a great bold statement to make with your wardrobe.  Kelly green is definitely a BSM favorite, as it looks great on brown skin tones.  Today I pulled out a flirty tan skirt and my favorite over the knee suede boots and pulled together a fun and colorful OOTD.  I am going to keep this post short and sweet as tho bold and colorful outfit truly speaks for itself.  Here's a peek at what I pieced together.

Leggings are a Staple - Throw in some Leather & Statement Necklaces

Image
My weekends can get hectic & eventful,  sometimes at the drop of a dime, so I always get myself ready for anything even if my day starts out with just running errands.  These two outfits are my typical weekend attire, as they can take me from day to evening fun pending my event invites.  Leggings are definitely a staple in my wardrobe, because they are comfy, can be dressed up or down and come in various textures to keep things exciting. This past weekend was filled with meetings, shopping, lunching and dinners, so I stuck to black & grayish tones so that I was neutral just in case a change of plans occurred.  Leggings, leather and statement necklace are some of my favorite wardrobe pieces to build into my outfits because they can really set things off and make an things pop!   Here's a peak at what I pieced together.

Bottom Lines - Denim Pants vs Leather Skirt

Image
You can absolutely change a look by just switching up one piece of your outfit.  In today's post I paired a long cardigan and colored tank top with a pair of jeans and leather skirt, giving it two different appeals.  I dressed up the outfit by adding some gold accessories and detailed booties. The denim is great for during the day or if you are wanting a more casual chic appeal and the skirt gave it a more sassy and edgy look.  I always love to pair things with multiple items in my wardrobe for a couple reasons, most important being, you don't have to have many items in your closet, you just need to have items that can work with many things! Here's a peek at these outfit pairings.

Brown Butter in the Mix - Leather Jacket & Knee High Boots

Image
Black and cognac are one of my go to combos, other than black and red.   When I want to keep it simple but still add a light touch of color I love the cocoa/cognac tone.  There is something smooth about it, you could almost could call it brown butter.  It definitely provides a quiet yet meaningful offset to black, keeping your outfit timeless and classy. Today's outfit consists of a simple black sweater and pants, mixed with a cocoa brown leather jacket and cognac knee high boots.  Of course I couldn't forget to accessorize with my leopard infinity scarf.   Also making its debut on the blog, is my favorite handbag that I carry quite often, my LV Patent Epi Alma GM.  I love this bag because I can fit everything including my laptop in it if need be, not to mention that textured patent just gives it such a fabulous finish.  I can wear this bag with just about all my day to day outfits, so its very versatile, truly holding its value in more ways than one.  Here's peek at how

All That Jazz - Weekly Wardrobe Recap

Image
I have really been on the move this week and haven't had a chance to post, so I wanted to do a speed post of this weeks OOTD's.  My mood definitely changes from day to day and so does my schedule so I definitely appreciate the opportunity to have variety and the ability to change my look up.  One day I may feel sassy, the next I am feeling cozy, but whatever the case may be I have room to express myself.  Never be afraid to play and be creative with your wardrobe, but always be sure that you grant yourself the opportunity to play dress up and look good no matter what the occasion may be.  Also, please note that dressed down does not always mean you have to look crazy, you can still make it look flattering no matter what you have going on. I will do some sporty looks soon for my readers that have a little more casual environment careers or day to day activities.  For now here's a peek at this weeks wardrobe choices.

Weekend Recap - Friday & Sunday OOTD's

Image
This is just a quick post of the weekend OOTD's.  It was a weekend filled of errands, shopping & girl time with one of good friends.  Never a dull moment and definitely always a reason to get dressed as you never know what the day will bring.  As I always say everyday is a great occasion to get dressed; so if it seems that I may not hold back, you are absolutely right, because if I waited for a special day or event to wear some things, they may never make it out of my closet.  So here is peek at a couple days wardrobe ensembles.

Wrapped in Black - Black Leather Jacket, Black Dress, Black Boots

Image
There is something bold, sexy and powerful about wearing all black! Today I decided to express my inner bad mamma jamma with a very sleek yet edgy all black ensemble with touches of gold.   If you want something timeless and flattering in your wardrobe, be sure to invest in a couple great wrap dresses.  They are a simple design that streamlines curves and looks good on most everybody.  If you are a regular jet setter, they are great for travel wardrobe items, as they are fit for many occasions and take up minimal room in your suitcase! Once I again I got to pieced in two of my favorite wardrobe items, a leather jacket and knee high boots, with a cute and simple yet chic looking faux wrap LBD (little black dress).  It was a very simple pairing that made a powerful statement.  This outfit had me ready to handle everything from business on down to a evening out on the town had the opportunity presented itself.  My motto is, "stay ready so you don't have to get ready,"

Making Statements - White Cap Sleeve Dress & Red Pumps

Image
Something things just speak for themselves!  I don't care what the season is there is something about a vibrant white dress that simply makes a bold statement.  I was feeling happy about waking up today and grateful for being granted another day of life so I wanted my outfit to reflect that.  The sun was shining bright and I decided to match it with this black and white cap sleeve dress by Peter Nygard.  I love this dress because there is a simple yet bold elegance to it that definitely gives it a wow factor.  As I always say, when you look good you feel good and this dress definitely gave me the boost of sunshine today.   Take a peek at my OOTD.

Penciled In Polished - Cardigan, Printed Tank & Pencil Skirt

Image
Today's post is going to be short and sweet.  A basic pencil skirt and cardigan are a quick and easy way to go on any given day.  Today I didn't really have a desire to wear anything special so when in doubt,  I go with the basics.  There's not much effort needed to complete the look, just add a great tank and a couple accessories and you can create a  simple yet chic look that is polished and professional enough for what ever comes your way.  Here's a peek at today's OOTD.

Feeling Holiday Green - Hunter Green Dress, Black Blazer & Suede Over the Knee Boots

Image
One of my favorite colors during this time of year is hunter green.  As the weather begins to cool and the holiday season rolls in, something about this color puts me in a warm spirit.  I can never find it as often as I like but when I do I am sure to snatch it up as it is a very flattering color on brown skin tones. I found this great dress at the Dillard's clearance center on one of my random shopping days that I was on the hunt for something else.  I was actually looking for another dress in the same color and had no luck, but then this little Kenneth Cole number jumped out at me and I was so excited.  I love the zipper detail in the back, as it adds a nice accent to a simple body flattering dress.  Sometimes it doesn't take much to make a powerful statement and this dress does the trick.  From the color, to the detail, to the fit, I know that I found a classic and timeless piece that will have a place in my closet for awhile. I completed this outfit with a asymmetrical

Saturday in Neutral - Olive Green Infinity Scarf & Tee, Waxed Black Pants, Dark Natural Pumps

Image
Today was a simply Saturday made up of errands and mommy daughter time with my wonderful Mom.  I kept my outfit neutral with black, olive green and natural tones.  Nothing fancy, just a simply yet unfussy and polished combination.     One of my favorite go to accessories is my drawer full of infinity scarves.  Whenever I need a finishing touch to any outfit, I love to grab a scarf and throw it around my neck.  They are functional being that they keep me warm and can effortlessly jazz up an outfit at the drop of a dime.  I also love that you can choose to wear it long or double it up around your neck. I opted to wear my black waxed Paige peg skinny jeans, along with a simple olive green sleeveless JCrew t-shirt, my go pointy toe patent leather pumps and an olive green tone snake print infinity scarf.  Keep scrolling and take a peek at today's OOTD.

Keeping it Casual - Side Slit Sweater & Printed Palazzo Pants

Image
Today I was working from home and had to run a few business errands so I decided to keep it casual. Now I know my casual may be different than most, but I still have to always be ready to handle work if it comes up, so I just have days wear I can keep it a little lighter than others.  That being said a casual day for me like today,  consists of wide leg palazzo pants and a side high slit short sleeve sweater.  Definitely comfortable yet sassy enough to be out and about in handling my days business. You will notice that I didn't have shoes on in the pictures but I eventually put on some flat gold and black sandals to finish off the outfit.  Here's a peek at the OOTD.

Another day in the Life - Denim Jacket, Jumpsuit & Boots

Image
I have been a woman on the move this last week traveling from city to city.   So as I made my way back to my home town, of course, I had to pull out a comfy and cute outfit to get me through another jet setting moment.  Since I had to hit the ground running today I wanted to wear something that was versatile, yet appropriate to get me through multiple parts of my day.  I kept it simple and cute and still managed to have a very relaxed feel appeal in the process.  I pulled out my black flowy jumpsuit, it has the illusion of a dress (you saw the gray last week and I also purchased it in red because I loved it so much), paired with a dark denim jacket and finished it off with my favorite cognac boots.  I think I will retire them definitely for awhile after today and show some love to some of my other shoes now that I am back home and on my closet playground again.  Here's a peek at the OOTD.

Boots for Days - 1 Pair of Boots for 3 Travel Outfits - Outfit #3 of 3

Image
The travel outfit of the day was very simple with bold accents.  I wore all black and decided to add a pop of color and texture to jazz up the outfit a little.  If you like to wear black, I can totally relate, but sometimes I like to add a little something just to keep it light and fun.  By adding prints and colors you can turn what would usually be a boring, plain jane, or conservative looking outfit, into something fresh and vibrant! Today's outfit was a crew neck slinky style dress paired with some black leggings and of course the featured boots of the trip.  Here's a peek at the OOTD.

Boots for Days - 1 Pair of Boots for 3 Travel Outfits - Outfit #2 of 3

Image
Today was a denim day.  Crazy thing, I use to wear jeans all the time but it seems that these days its more like once every month or even every few months.  None the less, I was sure to pack these comfy Nico super skinny jeans by Hudson.  They are very stretchy and comfortable and go great with the boots of choice. Since this particular trip was family directed, for once, I was able to pack a little more casual then normal, which allowed me to pull out some old favorites that don't get as much attention as my dresses and other less casual items in my closet.   The OOTD is a pair of skinny jeans, a long black tank, along with an asymmetrical cardigan.  Here's a peek at how I pulled this outfit together.

Boots for Days - 1 Pair of Boots for 3 Travel Outfits - Outfit #1 of 3

Image
While traveling for a few days, I didn't want to pack a lot of stuff, I decided to build my outfit choices around one pair of boots that could be worn with everything.   This saves me from having bring a lot of unnecessary stuff!  While I love to accessorize and wear a different amazing shoe as often as possible, I try to make traveling as painless as possible.  I figure if I can make one or two pair of shoes work for a fews day I am definitely winning! I chose my cognac brown boots to bring along for my few days of travel.  They are a great neutral that goes great with jeans, as well as paired with blues, blacks and grays to add a rich pop of color to complete a great looking outfit combination. Today's OOTD consists of a gray harem jumper, along with a long cardigan, infinity scarf and of course the featured boots of the next few days.  Here's a peek at what I wore.

Another Dress Day in the City - Shift Dress and Knee High Boots

Image
As the weather changes and we nestle into fall, with winter approaching soon, one of my favorite combos this time of year is a great shift dress and knee high boots.  There's something about it that gives this fun, sassy yet cozy feeling for the season.  Its also a quick and easy go to outfit that can be appropriate for multiple events throughout your day.  Now depending on your location you can add to the combo, by pairing some tights or leggings according to your weather conditions.  Fortunately I live in a sunny state so I have the option to still bare legs at this time. My go to brand for a great shift dress is Laundry by Shelli Segal.  I have been a fan of her dresses for many years, as the material is a polyester/spandex blend that hangs just right.  Her dresses are very versatile, comfortable, as well as flattering which is very important when you are looking for great pieces to add to your wardrobe.  They are great to travel in as well, being that they do not wrinkle and

Just another day - Long Sleeve Crewneck, Vest & Midi Skirt

Image
Sometimes I don't have a rhyme or reason for what I put on, other than I have no choice but to get dressed any given day.  That usually results in me going with the first item I lay eyes on when I walk in my closet and building around it.  Today I decided to build around my long sleeve sheer crew neck.  Nothing special going on, but as I always say "you don't need a reason to look good", so I just get dressed every day to stay ready for what ever comes to the schedule.  Today I have some business meetings and conference calls to handle, so I decided to keep it light and simple;  light weight materials, with simple pairings.  I completed my look by pulling out my cotton midi skirt, a black vest, my favorite go to, pointy toe heels, and my outfit was complete.  Here's a peek at what wore.

Every day is a Special Occasion - Embroidered Skirt, Tank and Blazer

Image
I have things in my closet that I sometimes never get to waiting on a special occasion; so rather than do that I figure, "if you have it, wear it", as everyday is a special occasion to look and feel good.  For today's OOTD,  I was feeling a little sassy and decided to wear this fun embroidered fitted skirt. I have said it before, I love pieces that accent your curves in all the right places; and the skirt does just that.  I completed the look with an long asymmetrical sleeveless top and a blazer.  Simple, yet edgy and definitely and outfit that can take you from day to night if need be.  Now, call me crazy, but I truly got dressed to sit in my office all day and run a couple errands, but regardless I was ready for anything that came my way.  Here's a peek at what I wore.
